March TNT Programs

TNT (Teen and Tween) programs in March are:

TAG suggests books, audiobooks, videos, and CDs for the library to purchase; suggests and contributes to planning programs for 6th through 12th graders; and volunteers at the library

Books & Bites: Peeps Edition

Come ready to talk about your favorite book or any book you are reading now.  After discussing the books, you'll create a Peeps version of a scene from the book.

New TNT Newsletter

We have started a new monthly TNT (Teen & Tween) e-newsletter to provide information about programs and new books for 6th through 12th graders, library news, and more.

You may read this month's newsletter here and sign up to receive future newsletters here.

If you asked to receive the newsletter when you registered  for our Summer Reading Program, you should have received this newsletter by email on September 10.

If you did not receive the newsletter and would like to, please sign up here.

If you received emails about programs last year, but did not sign up for the newsletter this year, you will not receive emails.  The new newsletter is replacing the emails with program information from last year.  You will only receive the information if you sign up for the newsletter.

Fall Programs

During our Books and Bites program last month, we discussed The Mysterious Benedict Society and made corner bookmarks.  Our next programs will be a jack-o-lantern carving program on Tuesday, October 28 and Books and Bites in November.  We hope to see you there!








 
Jack-o-lantern Carving 

Tuesday, October 28 at 4:30 and 6:30 P.M.
6th – 12th graders
The library will provide pumpkins for you to carve into jack-o-lanterns.  Registration is required by Saturday, October 25.  Please register here, call 734-439-1240, or stop by the library to register.  
  

 Books and Bites
Thursday, November 13 at 4:00 P.M.
6th – 8th graders


Read Running Out of Time by Margaret Peterson Haddix before the program.  Ask for a copy from the circulation desk or reserve a copy here or here.

During the program, we'll eat snacks, discuss the book, and participate in an activity related to the book.

Summer Reading Program



Join us this summer to read, earn prizes, and attend programs at the library.  All 6th - 12th graders are invited to participate in our Teen Summer Reading Program.  See information about our children's program for toddlers through 5th graders here.

Friday, June 13 is the first day to pick up reading logs from the library and begin reading and/or listening to books.  Drop in between 10:30 A.M. and 12:30 P.M. on June 13 to get a balloon animal from Sparkles the Clown.

Programs for all ages include:
  • Reading is Magic performance on Tuesday, June 24 at 10:30 A.M.
  • Spectacular Science: Liquid Nitrogen on Tuesday, July 8 at 10:30 A.M.
  • Joel's ScienceRific Comedy Show on Tuesday, August 12 at 10:30 A.M.
All three of these performances will be held in the Senior and Community Activity Center.

Teen Tuesdays will be held in the library.  Events include:
  • Paint the Windows
  • Game Day
  • Stuffed Animal Sitters
  • Spark a Reaction science activities
  • Books and Bites
  • Food Art

Make and eat edible spring treats 
while you discuss the books you’re reading, 
hear suggestions for great books to read, 
and choose a book for the next “Books and Bites.”

"Books and Bites"

Everyone in 6th - 12th grade is invited to "Books and Bites" on Tuesday, September 29 at 4:30 P.M. We'll discuss your favorite books and eat ice cream sundaes. Did you read something great this summer? Share it with us and hear everyone else's favorites, too. You'll also hear about some of the new books in the library and help choose a book for the next "Books and Bites." Please call or stop by the library to register for this program.

Oceans of Possibilities!

Our Summer Reading Program will begin Saturday, June 11 and continue through Saturday, August 27. Children and teens are invited to read and...
